About Women Who Cook

Twin Cities jazz vocal legends Patty Peterson, Debbie Duncan and Connie Evingson will be sharing the stage on behalf of STRIVE and other youth programs of the Minneapolis South Rotary Club. The event entitled Women Who Cook will feature each vocalist doing a solo set with a combined finale. The trio of vocalists will be backed by "3 Flights Up," a new ensemble of Twin Cities jazz veterans that includes bassist Michael Gold, trombonist Dave Graf, saxophonist Doug Haining, drummer Nathan Norman and pianist/accordionist Don Stille. Proceeds send students to leadership camps and provide materials and scholarships for high school students who, starting in the lower third of the graduating class, worked with Rotary Club mentors throughout the year to improve their attendance, grades and outlooks on education and life.
